Benbow Bullock's 24 foot high silicon bronze sculpture Heroic Encounter was dedicated into the permanent collection of the Chicago Athenaeum Sculpture Parkon May 26, 2001.

The dedication ceremony Art Under the Stars welcomed new additions to the 40 acre park by other international sculptors as well, including work by artists from Iceland,Finland, Israel, and Mexico.

In 1997, The Athenaeum started its multi-phase Museum Campus Project in Schaumburg with the installation of work by Chicago and international artists.
