Snark bolt corner cage
Custom corner mounting bolted to southwest walls of the Oakland Museum roof. Held in place 2" diameter bolts, 11" long.
Twelve 2" O.D. holes drilled into reinforced concrete walls. Indistrial grade epoxy cement used to secure bolts in the walls. Passed 16,000 psi hydraulic stress test. 2'X2' square lower base plate 2" thick welded to top of the corner cage. Four 2" D bolts weled upright in each corner.

Crane hoisting snark
Truck crane hoisting Snark sculpture to fourth floor roof level of the Museum.

Snark sling attached to crane cables
Shows the sling around the sculpture for lifting to prevent scratches. Sailboat lines are attached to qick release shackles to allow the sling to drop away from the sculpture when release lines are pulled taut.
